Dr. Catherine “Cat” Guerrero is an extraordinary pediatric dentist, mother of two teenagers, and wife of nearly 23 years. She knows exactly what it is like to be the mom of a young child who has cavities. In fact, when her son had less than an ideal experience, she was inspired to become a pediatric dentist so that she could treat her patients with tender, loving care! She wants every child to have a positive dental experience and to be treated with care and compassion.
Dr. Cat’s career really demonstrates the best of the American ideals of freedom, opportunity, and hard work. She’s in her third career! Her previous employment includes having worked for the U.S. Secret Service for more than five years, followed by employment in the computer corporation industry for several years. After she decided to pursue dentistry, Dr. Cat had to completely re-tool and re-educate. After completing all of her prerequisites, she earned a position in the dental school at the A.T. Still University in Arizona where she also earned a certificate in public health. Dr. Guerrero then completed a residency specializing in pediatric dentistry at the Lutheran Medical Center in Arizona, followed by private practice in pediatric dentistry.
Her training in public health certainly informs her approach in pediatric dentistry. Since education is foundational in creating an environment where good oral health prospers, Dr. Guerrero strives to keep the parents of her patients well informed. She also incorporates the most up to date information in pediatric dentistry in all of her treatment recommendations. Perhaps most importantly, she treats all of her patients with tender, loving care!
Dr. Cat and her husband moved their family from Arizona to California to enable their children to pursue their dreams. Dr. Guerrero’s son is pursuing acting and singing and her daughter is kicking up the dust while running on the tracks. In addition, Dr. Cat’s family has three dogs. They love everything California has to offer including the beach and Disneyland, and watching movies, plays, concerts, and musicals.
Dr. Cat currently holds active standing in the American Dental Assocation, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the California Dental Assocation, and the California Society of Pediatric Dentistry.
